We have deployed a high-resolution X-ray CT scan for quality management. There is a new trend to apply X-ray CT for metal powder quality inspection. In this issue, we will introduce the latest powder analysis technology of metal powder by X-ray CT scan.

Electron Backscattered diffraction (EBSD), is an epoch-making crystal analytical method and widespread in the late 1990s to 2000s, thanks to the great improvement of calculation speed in the operation computer, attached to the EBSD system.

This SEM image shows a part of a thin-wall component we mass-produced, and its edge thickness is only 10 μm. It is required not only the mould and processing technique but also adequate material development.

We receive more inquiries about special gears and small metal parts for medical precision machines by materials with high hardness. Today we will introduce our experienced materials which are harder than stainless steel 316L, commonly employed in metal injection moulding or MIM production.

Today we subsequently introduce our approach to collaborate with AM and our prospects.

The additive manufacturing (AM) technology has been actively developed in Japan since AM was promoted as a national project in 2016. We would like to introduce the AM trends from the perspective of metal injection moulding or MIM manufacturers.
